It was 2017.
I had taken a healthy break from dating since 2013. I wasn’t making great choices and, more than anything, I wanted to teach myself how to love my own company.
In that hiatus, I did a few things:
I established a regular 6am workout, something I never thought I could do.
I had gotten off the early morning 2:30am wakeup calls to do television.
I had slowed down tremendously and *created* space in my life.
In 2017, I did something else powerful.
One day, I just declared it. I declared, with decisiveness, “I will be in a relationship this year.”
I divorced myself from the ‘how’ and just declared it.
By the end of 2017, I was in a relationship. Matt and I now have a home in Brooklyn and log 8 years together.
Why am I sharing this story?
This week, I heard 2 clients tell me imposter syndrome is consuming her ability to take up space in a room.
